In 2019 the stone culture of the Bisan Islands was recognized as a Japan Heritage site, with the catchphrase, “Do you know?　 Islands of stone, where time leisurely drifts by.

The Setouchi Stone Islands App describes the heritage and cultural assets of the Bisan Islands and introduces the unique stonecutting traditions of the area.
There is a wealth of content to familiarize you with the islands, including “Island Love,” a collection of memories by local residents, and “Stone Island Columns” which introduce the attractions on various islands.
The app also has a “Navigation” section for easy recognition and location of the cultural assets, and other useful information for site visits.
